A Few of My Favorite Things

Disclaimer:  There is nothing on this page intended to be even remotely educational--just fun!  This page includes things I  enjoy and often  share with my students.

These two are my pride and joy, better known as Ramses and Seti.  They were found in the school parking lot around seven years ago.  They now reside in my house--actually they own it.  I just buy the cat food.  The kids know them as "The Boys."

Sheba

As if those two weren't enough, I had to bring in two girls to even things out. These are Sheba (left) and Cleo (for Cleopatra, right).  Believe it or not, they all seem to get along.  Plus, it's a really big house.

Ah-h-h-h-h-h!  My seventh grade picture. I was once a scary junior high student, too.  Notice the picture was before braces. Ugh.

This is my kindergarten picture--more proof that I was young once.  Some might tell you I've never grown up.  :)

Yup, kids, this is little Angela with her faithful sidekick, Tuffy.  You didn't think I'd put a current picture up, did you?

Since I went to ROVA, I had to throw this in.  I have always loved tigers--big kitties!  I always loved Tigger and Calvin and Hobbes, too!

Raiders of the Lost Ark, one of my favorite movies.  Actually, this movie helped encourage my interest in ancient history, especially Egypt.  Okay, Harrison Ford didn't hurt, either.  I still think he'd make a great president--how cool is Air Force One?

I love roses--rose bushes, that is.  My goal is to grow an English cottage rose garden like in a Thomas Kinkaide painting.  I'm not there, yet, but  I  keep trying!

A real baby picture...

I rode horses before I could walk.  I grew up with Tonka and Joe.  Was I a lucky kid or what?

Proof I am a farm-girl.  This was one of my 4-H cows.  My grandfather raised pure-bred Red Poll cattle, so we carried on the tradition. Notice the Cubs hat--a fan even then.  Actually, my great-uncle played for the Cubs at the major league level.

Another baby picture--I had to get Mom in there, somewhere. Notice my chubby cheeks were there even then.

Family has always been very important.  This is my dad's family.  My grandmother, who was also a teacher, is surrounded in this picture by her family for her 100th birthday.  It's pretty amazing to see how so many people can look back to a single ancestor.  I'm in there somewhere..

Oh, alright.  Here I am.  Happy now? I used to coach high school softball in addition to other things.

Ah, my house--well, the one I’m selling anyway.  An ongoing project that has gotten out of hand.  It's kind of a father / daughter project gone awry...the building goes on and on and on.

Then, I decided to sell it and move back to the country.       ?        More to come...

The graduate!  Receiving my first Master's degree in May, 2003.  My dad is with me--isn't he cute, all proud and puffy-chested-like-a-toad?

I promised my dad I'd throw this picture in for fun.  This was my first fish.  Note my buddy Tuffy in the lower corner.  He's very interested.
